Starting a new account with a large manufacturer, there was strong corporate pressure
to shift costs and redesign the plan. Hylant immediately formed
a team of five benefit professionals to address service issues,
benchmark costs and reshape the plan and overall contribution
strategy.
The result was a total project overhaul with contributions
tied to the level of benefits. Annual first-year savings were
projected at $2.7 million or 16.5 percent. The client also
saved another $1.8 million in projected new-employee contributions.
