As a former underwriter, I understand what
motivates insurance carriers. And with an extensive financial
background, I spend a great deal of time on the technical
side, assisting clients with risk-based decisions that make
good financial sense.
A manufacturer with excessive
flammability exposure recently needed to mitigate its risk.
With several large, petroleum-based tanks grouped in one part
of a building, we brought together a working team of experts
and managers for a cost-benefit analysis, examined various
options for fire suppression, and then weighed each one against
long-term costs and savings in premiums.
We installed a fire-suppressing system
and several other measures that created savings well above
the cost of the additions. Not only did the client save money,
the facility became a much safer place for employees.
Taking the extra time and closely examining
the facilities helped me understand issues in ways I might
not have seen otherwise. For me, there’s no other approach.
