Senior Vice President
As a former coal miner, construction contractor
and environmental engineer, I’ve been in the trenches
of some of the biggest industrial issues in the industry.
From the remediation of Superfund sites to building coal mines,
I've seen it all.
Now with Hylant, I put that expertise to work
for clients every day, providing a level of service based
on field experience that few in the industry can match. Recently,
Hylant was asked to structure a complex environmental insurance
program that blended funding for cleanup costs, insurance
for unknown pollution liability, potential third-party claims
and protection from regulatory issues and insurance to limit
cleanup costs.
A program that typically takes six to 18 months
was accomplished in four weeks. Working 18-hour days, we prepared
a request for proposal, pre-qualified accepted contractor
bids, designed the insurance program, prepared submissions,
negotiated the project price and premiums, wrote the policy
and submitted the entire package to a bankruptcy judge.
With an outstanding support staff, we met the
deadline in just 28 days. Soon after, the project was accepted
in bankruptcy court, and our client was permitted to purchase
the future site of a multi-million dollar, mixed-use redevelopment
project.
Projects like that don't happen every
day, but when they do, we’re ready for them. We have
the knowledge, the experience and the drive to do whatever
it takes to meet even the largest challenges.
