In this business you have to be creative. You need to look at your clients’ overall corporate objectives and consider all possibilities.

For example, we recognized that a client’s liabilities from a Superfund site created an impediment for a Fortune 1000 manufacturer. The solution: we negotiated a buyout of environmental liabilities between my client and a third-party contractor to extinguish their Superfund liabilities. The agreement was structured for favorable tax treatment and provided cost overrun protection for 30 years. It was one of only a handful of arrangements of its kind ever made.

I couldn’t have accomplished that without thoroughly understanding my client’s business. That’s why at Hylant we are fully committed to partnering with our clients to help ensure they achieve their goals, including those related to risk management, human resources and ultimately their financial performance.
